2. Handmade Beauty Recipe Of The Week: Maple
Oat Facial Scrub
Maple Oat Facial Scrub is
a great way to use a product that
most people only think of for pancakes and waffles. Maple syrup has a warm
and homey aroma that blends nicely with lots of essential oils, plus its
texture makes it a surprisingly effective medium for a soothing facial scrub.
Isn't it wonderful to pamper your skin naturally??!!

Last Week's Question: I am a non-profit organization that is the subject of much criticism by businesses both large and small. I was founded in 1998. I set standards and priorities, supposedly to facilitate fair progress and change in the Internet world. I am the backbone for the assi
gnment of Internet domain names around the world, and one of my goals is to enhance global online competition and promote consensus for users of the Internet across the globe. To win this week, state my full, complete and correct name.Last Week's Answer: ICANN (Internet Corporation For Assigned Names & Numbers). ICANN sets the technical standards that anyone (including consumers, businesses and public interests) must follow with respect to the Internet. For example, ICANN approves and introduces new top level domains to the Internet (.com, .org, etc.) and it also governs the companies that are able to legally register domain names for use by domain name owners. You can read more about ICANN and how its functions affect your business at this link.
This Week's Question: I am the most comprehensive measure of US economic activity. I am the value of goods and services produced by US-owned labor and property in the United States. It is important to be aware of me if you are a producer of any goods in the US for many reasons, including which your production figures count toward my final numbers each year! Historically, I have been very strong in the US, but over the last generation, since the end of the industrial revolution, my numbers have slipped more than usual now that many other countries are producers to be reckoned with in their own right. What am I?
Be the first to correctly answer this week's question and win a Pampering Present of Lemon Balm & Lemongrass Soap!
Please read the contest rules here before submitting your entry. Put "TRIVIA CONTEST ANSWER" in the subject line or your answer will not be considered.
While time does not permit me to respond personally to all entrants,
the winner's name will be announced in the next newsletter!

As a new mom (again), I have precious little time to experiment with new
products, but I love doing it so much that I can count on myself to always
fit it in! This week, I'd like to tell you about a wonderful collection of
products for a new mom from HBN member Earth Mama Angel
Baby, which are nestled in a box with roses among the
products and secured with a pretty colored bow.
Postpartum Recovery Tea - this restorative tea is among the best herbal teas I have ever tasted. Mixed with steaming hot water, some honey and milk, I have enjoyed sipping it before bedtime for several days now. Naturally sweetened with stevia herb, it also contains red raspberry leaf, nettle leaf, lavender. Lucky for me, it's rounded out by one of my favorite tea herbs -- lemon balm -- for a super soothing effect.
Postpartum Recovery Bath Herbs - this collection of herbs including comfrey, yarrow, witch hazel, lavender and stinging nettles and other new mommy- and baby-friendly herbs is a wonderful tea for the bath. The addition of lavender and orange essential oils makes is smell wonderful and the oats help soften bath water so any pain associated with labor may be alleviated. While I did not use this bath tea specifically to alleviate physical pain, my experience sniffing and soaking in it was healing from any perspective. In fact, before I had a chance to use it in the bath, I found myself sniffing it now and then for the wonderfully natural and uplifting aroma. Comes with a muslin bag for those who prefer to contain the herbs in the tub.
Postpartum Bottom Spray - I can't say too much publicly about how this product has helped me, but you know what I mean. A blend of pure distillates (including soothing witch hazel and cooling cucumber) and pure essential oils of lavender, New Mama Bottom Spray is a cooling, refreshing all-natural mist. It has good, clean stuff like witch hazel distillate and pure essential oils (like lavender) that help ease postpartum vaginal soreness, episiotomies and hemorrhoids. Spray this delicious-smelling, cooling mist onto your perineum as often as needed, especially after urination and bathing.
Happy Mama Spray - easily my favorite of all the products, I spritzed myself with Happy Mama Spray and I suddenly viewed a stressful moment in a whole new way. The essential oil blend and flower essences have been carefully chosen for this product and the attention that went into their selection is clear with the first spray. They aren't kidding when they call it "bliss in a bottle!"
Earth Mama Bottom Balm - this is the perfect herb-infused oil and beeswax balm for any new mom. Gently rubbed just about anywhere (not just the bottom!), it will soothe and nourish skin, and speed healing naturally wherever it is needed. I have especially liked using it on my very slowly but surely shrinking belly skin to help keep it supple as it tries to remember its old shape!
